MIZARU is a dance performance with interactive multimedia and live music, exploring life and death, technology and the human body. This project was developed at the Tribeca Performing arts center and premiered in June 2013. The title is the name of one of the three wise monkeys--Mizaru, Kikazaru, Iwazaru--in Japanese culture, who are better known in English as See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil.
My role in this project is the development of the screen interface as well as designing and programming the generative, interactive visuals.
The visual systems for the dance performance are created with Processing and the later burning man and brooklyn museum performances are created with c++ creative coding framework Cinder. Generative music and sound are implemented with Max/Msp and c++ audio library Fmod, respectively.
